This day was such a joy to witness — not only because Allyson and Zach are total soulmates (and hilarious), but because I’ve known Allyson for years. We met while studying musical theatre at WKU and became fast friends. She’s been part of my photography journey since the early days, always showing up to my Series Shoots and cheering me on. So to be asked to capture her wedding? Truly an honor.
Their engagement session was already one for the books — an overcast fall afternoon at the UK Arboretum, with their sweet pup in tow and the most adorable picnic setup that included D&D dice, wine, and other keepsakes that told their story. It was just so them — sentimental, fun, and completely original.

Their ceremony took place in the Nunnlea’s garden, a quiet and elegant space framed by historic brick, early spring blooms, and the peacefulness of a new season. With a small, close-knit group of family and friends gathered around, Allyson and Zach exchanged vows that felt deeply personal and refreshingly simple — a moment that felt just as intimate as it did joyful.
It was a beautiful morning, and such a meaningful way to begin a new chapter — with sunlight, laughter, and so much heart.

Allyson wore a stunning custom gown designed by her best friend (how incredible is that?), and Zach added a subtle nod to his love of Dungeons & Dragons with a gold D&D tie clip. Even their cake topper was handmade by the two of them — a sweet and quirky tribute to their shared creativity and joy.
These two poured so much personality into their celebration, and it was impossible not to smile watching it all unfold.

After the ceremony, guests moved inside The Nunnlea House for a cozy brunch reception. Afternoon sunlight poured in through tall windows, dancing off vintage mirrors and chandeliers in every room. It felt elegant but relaxed — just like the rest of the day.
There were heartfelt toasts, emotional dances, and so much laughter echoing through the space. You could feel how loved these two are, and how deeply they love in return.
